Bones set new wins record

The Bonediddlies got back to the grind on Monday night, taking care of business vs. Diorio. The squad prevailed 11-4. As usual, the Bones got off to a slow start, scoring 2 runs in the first 2 innings. The defense reappeared after a terrible showing vs. LeDonne last week. Only one of Diorio's runs were unearned.

Mark Goudreault played very well while filling in for 3rd basemen Mike Schmidt. He played flawless in the field, and had a huge, bases clearing double in the 5th to give the Bones a lead they would not relinquish.

The lineup had a different feel to it tonight, while Dave Kinsey lead off. Also, Evan Mielke batted cleanup while one-time leadoff hitter Joe Eversole was in the 5 hole. It was much more of a singles lineup while Schmidt sat out and coached 3rd. Schmidt dislocated his finger badly at practice on Sunday, and really wanted to play, but the staff decided against it. They are very hopeful he can play Monday in the final regular season game.

The Bones close out the season against LeDonne at 9:15 on Monday night. Just 2 weeks ago, the Bones suffered a 14-12 loss, playing terrible defense. This game also will determine who the 2 seed in the playoffs will be. If the Bones can win, their records will be identical, but they would be 1-1 vs. LeDonne. Then the tiebreaker would come into play. It has not been determined what the tiebreaker actually is yet. LET'S GO BONES!
