The Bonediddlies will be without their regular starting pitcher Jake Brady for Monday's 6:15 game vs. LeDonne. Jake must return to the Dominican for personal reasons. He will be placed on the bereavement list, and will be eligible to come off on July 13th, just in time for the game vs. Diorio next week.
In a corresponding roster move, the Diddlies will call up 5'8" right hander Mike Eversole from the Class A Savannah Georgia Peaches. This move was just put through the league front office, and should go through by Monday morning. The Uncle of the twins Pat and Joe Eversole, Mike has been performing well has the single A level, carrying a 3-1 record, with a 4.32 ERA in 4 games. That's extremely good for a 16 inch softball pitcher, and the Bones are hoping he can produce in his callup. He was expected to be promoted to the Triple A affiliate Kalamazoo Kangarooes before the end of the season, but was not expected to see time with the big ball club. He was reached by phone shortly after the news became public.
"Oh yeah, it's awesome. I'm really excited to show the team what I can do in a league like this. Hopefully this won't be my last time here."
Mike will bat 10th in the order, but the Bones are not really expecting him to do much in the lineup. They are expecting him to throw strikes, and let the stellar defense do it's job. See you Monday at 615!
