The Bonediddlies came into the game on a HOT streak, winning their last five, seeming invincible. Unfortunately, even the Bones are human.
Mike Eversole, filling in for Brady, pitched a great game, allowing one walk, and even contributing a few RBIs. He pitched well enough for the win, but the defense was not there.
It just wasn't the Bones day, even with huge extra base hits from Robillard, Schmidt, and P. Eversole. The offense wasn't great, but was definitely good enough to win this game.
Joe Eversole, the team shortstop, had a bad game from the leadoff spot, not reaching base at all. We caught up with him after the game.
"This was a tough loss for everyone, especially me. I didn't do anything to help the team. An Ofer, and way too many errors for a shortstop. I play the position because I want the ball, and after some errors, I played tentative. There's nothing I can do about it though. It's in the past. You live in the past, you die in the past, the past is for cowards. This just means we have to get it done next week vs. Diorio."
The Bones are closing in on the regular season, and now have a record of 5-3. They are in the running for the 2 seed, but it all depends on what the rest of the league does. They play Diorio at 815 next week, and then a rematch vs. LeDonne to end the season, starting at 915.
The Bones thank you for your support.
