BONES LOSE OPENER
The Bonediddlies did not start the season off how they wanted to, falling to the defending champion, Naberhaus. The final was 11-4. The Bones were never really in the game, while the score may have indicated. After 2.5 innings, the Bones cut into the other teams' lead, 5-2. That was the closest the Bones would get. The rainy conditions certainly did not help the Bones, as many balls bounced away from the outfielders, and the infielders had a bit of trouble fielding some balls. Overall though, the Bones problem was their lack of Offense. No one really shined tonight, and that was a problem. The Bones only real threat came in the 6th, but they only mustered 2 more runs. Overall, it looks like it may take the Bones a bit to get their groove back. Hopefully though, it's sooner than later. The Bones will take on powerhouse Fedyski at 815 next week.

GAME CANCELLED
I hate to report this news, but the Bonediddlies season opener will be put on hold for yet another week. Dan Novak, Comissioner, informed the Bonediddlies of this terrible news around 11 A.M. this morning. The new lights are up, but ComEd could not inspect them until Tuesday, May 13th. Novak reassured the Bones that we would finish the whole season this year, so we will have to see. The possibilty of playing on Mondays and Tuesdays for a 2 week span is a possibilites. More news to come as it arrives...

Guys
Just a friendly reminder, have your payment to me before game time.
NOTES: While the Bonediddlies will be without Nolan Cruz for the home opener, Joe Sengel's contract from the Single A affiliate Savannah Georgia Peaches will be purchased by the club. Sengel will be playing Right or Center field, but it has not been determined where he will bat, or even how the lineup is going to look.
After suffering a sprained finger 2 weeks ago, Ben Robillard is now at 100 percent and will be ready for the opener.
Joe Eversole, the team's starting shortstop, was slightly injured in a side session yesterday. The injury was not disclosed, and the severity of it was not as well. We will keep you updated as the news comes in.

News and Notes
Sup BONES!?
As of Friday night, the new lights at Graf Park field number 5 were not up. But, I rode over on my bike today, and they are UP! It looked grim yesterday, as if the Bones would have to wait another week to take the field. Novak had his crew put the lights up at 4 A.M. this morn, so we are all ready to go. 54.5 hours till game time!

Preview: Bonediddlies vs. LeDonne
HEY EVERYONE!
Unfortunately, the Bones season opener was PPD because of the renovations being made to Graf Park #5. The field will be ready for the May 12th game. It's an exciting time for the Bonediddlies, as the offseason workouts commenced on May 4th. We caught up with Evan Mielke as he made his way to the players parking lot.
"It was disappointing to find out the game was off. We all were feeling really good after today's practice. We just have to carry over the momentum to Monday, against Ledonne."
The Bones will be taking on a new team to the league this year. No one really knows much about them right now, so there's no way to tell how the game will go. The Bones are hoping that LeDonne and his squad are a nervous bunch, similar to the Bones in their first league appearance last year. The game will have a start time of 9:15, and will be broadcast locally on WCTV-17, with Harry Caray on the call. The weather as of Tuesday, May 6th does not look bad, but we will have to see if the weather will cooperate.
I see the Bones playing with a chip on their shoulder this game, proving to LeDonne, and the rest of the league, that they are for real this year. Final: 14-5, Bones.

Politics
Tough day for me, because I feel that I have lost a friend. I am sorry Curt, even joking about this whole situation. It was really shitty of me to not inform you of our plans. And good for Dave for having a spine. I will talk to you soon.

It's Official-email from Novak

FUCK NOVAK
FUCK NOVAK
Opening Day Change
The new lights at Graf Field #5 were still not up as of May 1st, 2008 at about 9:30 PM. This means that the first game will 90% be on May 12th. I am expecting a call from Novak soon about this. He is a prick by the way.
Also, Possible rainout day this year is Tuesday, so make sure you keep that open. Both teams will have to agree on it though.

Injury Update
As all of you know, Ben Robillard sustained a finger injury earlier this week. We have been tracking his progress very closely. The finger was very swollen yesterday, but thing are looking up. The swelling has gone down, but is still there. It is only Thursday, so the team is taking a wait and see approach. I would peg Ben at about 75 % to play right now. The team really needs to have him at 100 percent the whole season, so precautionary measures are being taken.
